blood
Today I went to pick up my uncle who asked if I would go with him to the channel 10 blood drive. So I went and ended up donating a pint and appearing on live television during the six o'clock news' weather report. It was pretty exciting. I don't think I've ever been on tv before. It was also a nice feeling to help out, especially after being "deferred" for "life" after my possible six-month exposure to mad cow disease. I got my lovely arm wrap of honor, and a complimentary ticket to this year's state fair (which I chose over an imax ticket). Only problem is that I won't be here for the state fair! I love the state fair. I missed it 2 years ago too, but I'm sure I'll be having a good time in Beijing. I'm leaving in 2 weeks! I got my books for class in the mail, and they're giving us more detailed information about what we'll be doing, and it's starting to feel real. I need to start organizing my stuff and figuring out what I need to bring and then it'll really hit me.
